Nexus S Review

Get the ultimate experience at 3G speeds with  Android 2.3 Gingerbread,  1 GHz Hummingbird processor and integrated Google Voice capabilities. A thin contour display gives the Nexus S a size that fits easily in the palm of your hand, and its brighter, high-contrast screen means colors are vibrant and text is crisp at any size, even in bright sunlight.
The Nexus S is packed with Super AMOLED Contour Display with curved glass screen, 1 GHz, 45 nm ARM Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, and Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking plus 3G Mobile Hotspot capability for sharing your 3G connection. It also supports Near Field Communications (NFC), the Nexus S can read information from everyday objects that have NFC chips in them.
The phone has a rear 5-megapixel camera and a front camera for easy video chats. Other features include assisted GPS (A-GPS) for outdoor navigation and location-based services, Bluetooth for hands-free devices and stereo music streaming, feedback vibration, access to both personal and corporate e-mail, and many more.
Using Google Voice, you get one number that rings all your phones, up to six different phones, with intelligent call routing and features like call screening, blocking, and recording. You also get a transcription of voicemail that’s sent to you via email and/or text message.

The Nexus S 3G comes with Android 2.3 OS (Gingerbread), the fastest version of Android available for smartphones at the time of it’s introduction. It features a cleaner interface with new icons, improved notification bar, and more intuitive navigation. Multitasking in Gingerbread allows you the ability to run more than one application at any given time. If you’re playing a game, you can easily switch to an incoming email and then switch back to the game without losing your place.
A new onscreen keyboard makes it easier to type thanks to additional spacing between the keys and larger font sizes. And the more you use the keyboard, the easier typing will be as the enhanced suggest feature records previous input history to make better suggestions. (Not all languages supported)
With Voice Actions for Android, you can press and hold the Search button from anywhere and speak almost anything, games, texts and emails, navigation direction queries, opening web pages, and more. And like the previous version of Android 2.2 ( Froyo ), Gingerbread provides support for Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for access to the Web.
The Nexus S 3G also brings one-touch access to the popular Google mobile services you use every day, including Google Search, Gmail, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Calendar, Picasa, and YouTube. It also provides easy access to e-mail, calendars, Gmail, Google Docs, etc…. And through Android Market, you’ll get access to thousands of useful applications, widgets, and fun games to download and install on your phone.

Google Nexus One

Nexus One Review

The Nexus One (also known as HTC Passion) was Google’s smartphone manufactured by HTC. It became available in January 2010 and uses the Android OS. Features of the phone include the ability to convert voice to text, an dynamic noise suppression, and voice guided navigation to drivers.
HTC One uses Super LCD display instead of AMOLED. The Super LCD display has greater power efficiency and color accuracy than the AMOLED display, while sacrificing the lauded color saturation and deep blacks of the original display. As of January  2011 or earlier, all Nexus Ones available are shipped with Super LCD display instead of AMOLED display.
The capacitive touchscreen , using Synaptics ClearPad 2000 sensor, supports multi-touch gestures limited to single finger input and 2×1D two finger gestures. Further more, it has an trackball which can emit different colors of light based on the type of notification being received. A voice processor developed by Audience uses a second microphone to suppress background noise during phone conversations. A  3.5mm stereo headset jack is also provided, adding microphone stereo earphones.

The phone has a built in  5.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and digital zoom, GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.0, and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi .  The Snapdragon processor allows for many advanced abilities including 720p video playback. There is built in hardware decoding for H.263, H.264 and MPEG-4 video, and can play MP3, WAV, and MIDI audio, and display JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP image formats. It has a micro USB port which conforms to the GSMA Universal Charging Solution instead of the common mini-USB port. The microSD card slot allows expansion up to 32 GB of extra storage. Applications can be installed either to the 512 MB internal flash memory, of which 190 MB are available for that purpose, or to the microSD card.

The Nexus One was released with Android 2.1 Eclair at first, but soon after an OTA update of Android 2.2 Froyo was released, which introduced a number of improvements, like a new home screen, support for Adobe Flash 10.1, better Microsoft Exchange support, Wi-Fi tethering, SD-card installable applications, cloud to device messaging for two-way push sync functionality and an overall 2-5x performance boost. The integrated Media Gallery provides several new features allowing the user to browse, edit, and share photos and videos on the phone.
Finaly, the Nexus One OTA update to Gingerbread (2.3.3) started in February 2011, and it
currently runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system.
